Ruth Nadine Gilbert

Ruth Nadine Gilbert, 90, of Chamois, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at her home. She was born September 9, 1926 in Morrison, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Emma (Oberkrom) Peters. She was united in marriage on February 13, 1944 in Chamois to Clarence "Gil" Gilbert. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1994. Ruth was a graduate of Osage R-1 High School Chamois. She was employed with Langenberg Hat Factory. Ruth was a member of the Chamois United Methodist Church and Sunday School, Chamois American Legion Auxiliary, Chamois United Methodist Women and was the chairperson for the OATS of Chamois and Morrison. Ruth had a passion for her church, where she taught Sunday School and was the Sunday School Treasurer. Most of all Ruth loved spending time with her family. She is survived by two children: Douglas Gilbert of Anchorage, Alaska and Cheryl Kuschel (Karl) of Chamois; one son-in-law: Virgil Buscher of Chamois; six grandchildren: Julie Rodriguez (Geoff), Scott Gilbert (Autumn), Daniel Kuschel (Kate), Nicole Koch (John), Debbie Gerloff (Leon) and Michael Buscher (Dana); 10 great-grandchildren: Lance Gerloff, Lacey Nolte (Ryan), Bret Buscher, Shane Buscher, Ryan Rodriguez, Violet Gilbert, Boone Kuschel, Sarah Kuschel, Kaden Koch, and Conner Koch; two great-great-grandchildren: Landen Nolte and Beau Nolte; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Beverly "Susie" Buscher, and two sisters: Bernice Witthaus and Mildred Stankowski. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Chamois United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will follow with Sabra Paulsmeyer officiating. Interment will follow in Chamois City Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Chamois United Methodist Church or the Chamois City Cemetery.
