Wilma Hogg, of Springfield, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. She was born on May 7, 1931, in Blue Springs, Mo. to J.G. (Gaylord) and Katherine (McGuire) Boyce. She graduated High School in Engene, MO in 1949 and was married to J.D. Hogg on October 22, 1950, and they were married for 58 years. The family moved to Springfield in 1968. She started her career in insurance at Modern American Life the following year. She continued to work with many of the same co-workers, and agents at subsequent companies, who came to be as dear to her as family. She retired in 2005. She had a genuine love for God, family and friends. She had a big smile for everyone she met. She loved to cook, and showed her love by preparing many meals throughout her life for anyone that came by to visit. Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, Mary McIntosh; four brothers, Harold, Edwin, Charles, and Marvin. She is survived by her son, Kevin and his wife Donna of Springfield, Mo.; sisters, Norma Greenwell of Columbia, Mo., Evelyn Sesata of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, Wayne Boyce and his wife Paula of Rocklin, Calif.; sister-in-law, Judy Boyce of Springfield, Mo.; grandson, David Lemons and his wife Hannah of Springfield, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, March 13, 2017, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in Riverview Cemetery, Jefferson City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Cancer Society of the Ozarks, Springfield, Mo. We would like to thank everyone with Mercy Hospice for the help, and comfort they gave during this difficult time.
