George Frederick Mincher, 63, of Jefferson City passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on May 24, 1954 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Edward William Mincher and Joann Rose (Smith) Mincher. George served in the United States Air Force from 1973 to 1975 until he was honorably discharged. He worked for General Motors for many years, was an over- the-road truck driver with OTRX and ACT and recently retired in 2016 as a bus driver for Jefferson City Bus Transit. George was united in marriage on April 5, 1980 in Cleveland, Missouri to Debbie Mincher. George was a gifted mechanic and had a knack for fixing anything. He loved to spend time outdoors, especially around a campfire at the Osage River with friends and family. His sense of humor was one of a kind and he loved to make people laugh. He always made his family his first priority and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed dearly, by many. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debbie Mincher; three daughters, Emily Paulus and husband Vince Paulus, Fife Lake, Michigan; Melissa Mincher and significant other CJ Weadick, Russellville, Missouri; and Megan Stegeman and husband Patrick Stegeman, Jefferson City, Missouri; along with five grandchildren, Laughlin McKinnon, Tyler Paulus, Angel McKinnon, Kyle Paulus and Hunter Burkhart. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
