Leland 'LeRoy' Cassil, 76, of Jamestown, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Moniteau Care Center in California, Mo. He was born on January 5, 1941 in Jamestown, Mo., the son of Leland Cassil and Hazel 'Wittenburger' Cassil, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on September 7, 1962 in Jamestown, Mo. to Fern Bieri, who preceded him in death on September 19, 2014. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School. He was a farmer and worked in construction. He was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church and the Lions Club of Jamestown, Mo. He enjoyed woodworking, going to auctions, and visiting with people. Survivors include one son, Steven Cassil and his wife Wanda of Latham, Mo.; three daughters, Jenine Baker of California, Mo., Sheryl Stegeman and her husband Larry of Jamestown, Mo., Ellen Cramer and her husband Kevin of Gilliam, Mo.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Violet Reynolds; one grandson, Ryan Stegeman; and his step-mother, Mary 'Hill' Cassil. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11:30 a.m., both at the funeral home. Officiating will be Bro. Clyde Leonard. Burial will be at the St. Paul's Evangelical Cemetery in Jamestown, Mo. Memorials are suggested to Lions Club of Jamestown, Mo. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.
