Janice Marie "Jann" Lewis, 64, of Sedalia, died Monday, June 26, 2017 at E.W. Thompson Health and Rehab Center. She was born March 7, 1953 in Sedalia, a daughter of the late Bill and Beulah (Kinder) Coffelt. On June 22, 1974, at Sacred Heart Church in Sedalia, she married the love of her life, Jim Lewis, who survives of the home. She was raised and educated in Sedalia and was a 1971 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She received her R.N. degree from Lincoln University in Jefferson City. She worked as a nurse in the OB department at St. Mary's Hospital, Cole County Health Department, Missouri Patient Care Review Foundation, and was a nurse consultant for the State of Missouri Department of Health. Jann was a Master Gardener and worked with her husband, Jim, to grow beautiful flower gardens. She was a fabulous cook and especially enjoyed preparing desserts. Jann was a Christian and led by example as a generous person that loved helping others and loved her family. In addition to her husband, Jim, Jann is survived by two children, Chris Lewis and his wife Michelle of Kansas City, and Sarah Lewis of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Kenneth Coffelt and his wife Gerri of Sedalia; three sisters, Peggy Kuhlman and her husband Gary of Sedalia, Sarah Brown and her husband Rick of Kansas City, and Christy Stretz and her husband Chad of Columbia; one granddaughter, Eliana Marie; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 8, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Chris Guffey officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral chapel.
