Charles "Charlie" Thomas Potts Jr., 82, of High Point, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017, at his residence. He was born January 6, 1935, in Bustleton, New Jersey, the son of the late Charles Thomas Potts Sr. and Margaret Mae (Bennett) Potts. Charlie served his country in the United States Army. He was united in marriage on August 28, 1971, in Burlington, New Jersey to June Ann Brock, who survives at the home. Charlie retired from the City of Colorado Springs as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Jefferson City, the National Rifle Association, and the North American Hunting Club. Charlie enjoyed riding horses, and working on cars and tractors. He is survived by his wife, June Potts, High Point; four children, Charles (Margaret) Potts III, Willingboro, N.J.; Debra (Fred) DeSante, Riverside, N.J.; Janell (Robert) Cook, Chambersburg, Pa.; Jonathan Potts, Russellville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Elizabeth Bowers. Friends and family are invited to gather at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville on Monday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville with Rev Bill Nesbit officiating. Burial with military honors will be in High Point Cemetery. Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
