Harvey Donald Derendinger

Harvey Donald Derendinger, 95, of Jamestown, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born on May 17, 1922, in Jamestown, Missouri to John and Anna (Stauffer) Derendinger. Harvey graduated from Fairview School near Jamestown. On September 2, 1951, at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown, Harvey was married to Anna M. Gerlach who survives of the home. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church and served on the church board. He was a former member of the Jamestown C-1 School Board and served 15 years on the Moniteau County Health Board. He was a charter member of the Jamestown Lion's Club, a 62 year member of Moniteau Lodge #295 and California Lodge #183, and a 56 year member of the California Royal Arch #58. He was a lifelong farmer and an avid fisherman-especially crappie. He loved sharing his time having coffee at B&T, playing cards at City Hall and keeping tabs on the farm until his recent illness. Harvey is also survived by: his son Stephen Derendinger; three grandchildren Michelle Phillips (Preston) of Florence, Stephen Derendinger II (Debbie) of Jamestown and Christina Derendinger of Jamestown; five great-grandchildren, Grace, Paxton and baby girl Phillips, Cole Theissen and Sydney Derendinger; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents Harvey was also preceded in death by: one brother, Herbert Derendinger; two sisters, Gertrude Burger and Lena Sabbert; son, Brian Derendinger and a daughter-in-law, Becky Derendinger. The family will receive friends at St. Paul's Evangelical Church on Thursday, November 30, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017, at St. Paul's Evangelical Church with Rev. Russell Cobb, Rev. Steve Watson and Rev. Don Sabbert officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul's Evangelical Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Evangelical Cemetery.
