Rock "Rocky" Layne Cook

Rock "Rocky" Layne Cook, 60, of Henley, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017, at his home. He was born August 9, 1956, in Great Bend, Kansas, a son of the late Jack R. and Karen L. Cook. On August 22, 1992, Rocky was united in marriage in Jefferson City, to Mary Alice (Buschjost) Schulte, who survives at their home. Rocky was a Carpenter for thirty years, where he worked for Cook & Davis Construction, and then Kevin Cook Construction. Rocky was an avid sports fan, and his favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and St. Louis Cardinals. His greatest love was for his grandkids. He also had a love for animals, especially his dog Bart. Along with his wife Mary, Rocky is also survived by a step-son: Jeff Schulte (wife Cathy) of Meta; a step-daughter: Sheila Ewers (husband Bob) of Iberia; a brother: Dale Cook (wife Gilley) of Jefferson City; a sister: Ginger Cook of Springfield; three grandchildren: Dustin Ewers (wife Cassie), Brittany Ewers, Amber Schulte; and two nephews: Ben Wayne and Danny Cook. He was preceded in death by a sister: Leigh Wayne; and his parents. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery in St. Thomas.
