Raymond "Ray" Lee Branson, age 70, of New Bloomfield and formerly of Linn, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017, peacefully at his home. Ray was born December 15, 1946, in Linn, a son to the late Earl and Alice (Heimes) Branson. Ray attended Linn High School. On September 14, 1974, he was united in marriage to Robette Locher at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Judge, Missouri. Ray was employed by Von Hoffmann Press, Inc. He enjoyed working on cars, playing cards, his mega-rummage sales and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his spouse of 42 years, Ray is survived by: two sons, Shannon L. Branson and his wife Angela of Holts Summit and Jason R. Branson and his wife Jeanne of Holts Summit; three brothers, Richard Branson of Lake Ozark, Marvin Branson and Roger Branson, both of Linn; two sisters, Donna Hurte of Steele, Mo. and Wanda L. Bosworth of Alexandria, Va.; two grandchildren, Luna R. Branson and A.J. Graves, both of Holts Summit; and several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, William Schaefer. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2107, at Morton Chapel in Linn with Rev. Perry Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in the Solid Rock Cemetery in Judge.
