Clarine Margaret Means, 86, of Chamois, passed to her eternal reward peacefully at home on August 2, 2017. She was born on the 28th of October, 1930, in Morrison, Mo., the daughter of Clarence and Louise Baumstark. She grew up in Hermann Mo., attending St. George grade school and Hermann High School. She married her husband Gerald C. Means, who survives her, on October 14, 1950. Clarine was always a faithful and active member of her Church, serving in many different capacities especially in the Ladies' organizations. She loved praying the rosary, traveling, RVing, flower gardening, playing cards and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Together she and Jerry have seven children: Dennis Paul, who died in 1959 at the age of 6; Rev. David Means; Catherine (Michael) Cunningham; Bernard (Leona) Means; Ann (Quinn) Corrigan; Susan (Ken) Knittel; and Patricia Steel. They have 12 grandchildren: Andrew (Maureen) Cunningham; Colleen (Chuck) Larsen; Chris (Bethre) Means; Katie Means; Bryan (Melissa) Means; Nick (Sarah) Miller; Tim (Stephanie) Miller; Dennis Miller; Leonard Knittel; Kendra Knittel; Ben Steel; Evan Steel and nine great-grandchildren: Caroline, Claire, Jack, Luke and George Cunningham; Gwendolyn Means; Harrison Means; Story Miller; and Noah Miller. Clarine was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary Ann Struttmann: she is survived by two sisters, Charmaine Klott, and Eleanor Lloyd, and one brother Joe Baumstark; and by many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chamois. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017; at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Dave Means celebrating Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in St. Louis on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
