Eric O. Olson, 46, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017, at Capital Region Hospital. He was born on November 19, 1970 in Minot, North Dakota, a son of Sherman Oscar and Judith Anne (Nelson) Olson. On January 17, 2006, he was united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nev. to Tracy Harris, who survives at the home. Eric attended Wellington Sr. High in Wellington, Kan. He served his country in the United States Army for 10 years, including a peace keeping tour in Haiti and two tours in the Bosnia-Herzegovina Conflict. Eric was a manager with Rent-A-Center. He loved to cook, watch movies, TV, especially cooking shows and the UFC. Eric's greatest love and joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Eric is survived by his two sons: Andrew Olson (Ashley) and Brandon Olson, both of Jefferson City; two grandsons: Elijah and Micah Olson; siblings: Marci Welch of Arizona, Stefani Jones (Mark) of Winfield, Kan., Christopher Olson (Earlveyla) of Harper, Kan., Suelyn Olson of Blue Springs, Curtis Olson of Harrisonville, Melissa Edwards (Derrick) of Santa Maria, Calif., Ruben Olson of Sacramento, Calif., Matthew Olson (Rachel) of Harrisonville, Cassandra Alam (Shamsul) of Newport News, Va., and Marlayna Olson of Independence: friend: Dawn Abbott; as well as many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, Sherman Olson. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Houser Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Houser Millard Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo.
