Noel M. Caspari

Mrs. Noel M. Caspari, age 97 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at the Villa Marie Nursing Center. Noel was born July 2, 1919 in Marceline, Mo., the daughter of Gilbert and Genevieve (Othic) Miller. She was married on May 20, 1938 at St. Bonaventure Church in Marceline, Mo. to Raymond F. Caspari Sr., who preceded her in death on March 5, 2004. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Noel graduated from St. Bonaventure High School on Marceline, Mo. A homemaker, Noel and Raymond owned and operated Caspari Custom Cabinets, known for their quality cabinets for many years. Family was the center of Noel's life and she was very active in her children's lives. She was a strong, independent woman but also very generous when it came to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, the St. Peter's Ladies Sodality and the St. Peter's Parish Quilting Circle. She volunteered at the Special Learning Center in the Crayon Kids Room where she loved rocking babies. Noel enjoyed quilting, painting, sewing and took pride in mowing her own yard up until a few years ago. She never met a stranger and always loved visiting with friends or anyone that would listen. Survivors include: six children, Stephen Caspari (wife Dolores) of Rotunda West, Fla., Thomas Caspari (wife Dede) of St. Louis, Mo., Karen Vercollone (husband David) of Centerville, Mass., Raymond Caspari Jr. (wife Deanne) of Jefferson City, Mo., Marcrissie "Cris" Henley (husband Daniel) of Jefferson City, Mo., and Lisa Sone of Jefferson City, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Donna Caspari of Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Margaret Cochran of Joplin, Mo.; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; two sons, James Mark Caspari in 1954 and Paul Caspari in 2016; and one granddaughter, Leigh Anne Caspari in 1987. Visitation will be at the Cathedral of St. Joseph from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 22, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with Monsignor Robert Kurwicki officiating. Graveside service and interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Helias Foundation or Cathedral of St. Joseph.
