Marlene R. Bussard, 84, of Oro Valley Ariz., passed away Monday, September 26, 2016. She was the youngest of four children born to Clarence E. Tremain and Alma R. (Boyce) Tremain on March 31, 1932, in Warrensburg, Mo. She was raised in the family home in Jefferson City, Mo., with her three older brothers. She was married on May 13, 1951, in Jefferson City, Mo., to her high school sweetheart Vernon R. Bussard Jr. During her husband's career in the U.S. Navy, they lived in Tennessee, Florida, Alaska, and California where they raised their two sons and daughter. She was a Certified Travel Consultant, and manager of a Travel Agency in Hemet, Calif., which gave her the opportunity to travel extensively to many countries. As a tour guide, she escorted large groups to Australia and New Zealand. She retired with her husband to Oro Valley, Ariz. In 1987, she became active in both the nine and 18 hole ladies golf leagues at Sun City Vistoso, serving on the board in both leagues. She also pursued her interest in jewelry design and volunteered at the Sun City Vistoso Gift Shop where her jewelry was on display. Marlene was preceded in death by her father, Clarence E. Tremain and mother, Alma R. Tremain of Jefferson City, Mo.; brother, Elmer E. Tremain of Lawrence, Kan.; brother Ray E. Tremain of Colorado Springs, Colo. and brother Richard P. Tremain of Jefferson City, Mo. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Vernon R. Bussard Jr.; son, Grant A. Bussard of Tehachapi, Calif.; daughter, Crystal "Kelly" Squire of Tucson, Ariz.; son, Keith R. Bussard of Chino, Calif.; five grandchildren, Christina Alexoff of Tucson, Ariz., Koda Tompkins of Tucson, Ariz., Jacob Bussard of Tucson, Ariz., Joshua Bussard of Chino, Calif., Cali Squire of Tucson, Ariz., and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Christian Church. Marlene will be interred at the Arizona Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Marana, Ariz. Services will be private. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in Marlene's name. Arrangements under the care of Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley, Ariz.
