Melba Parker

Mrs. Melba Parker, age 92 years, formerly of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016, at South Hampton Place, Columbia, Mo. Melba Louise Parker was born on April 6, 1924 in Dent County, Mo. to Louis and Laura (Springman) Hass. She graduated from Salem High School and married Joseph Leon Parker. They resided in Jefferson City where she owned AAA Florist (1965-1985). Melba is survived by: her son, Dr. Gary (Kathy) Parker of Columbia, Mo.; her daughter, Glenda (Don) Miller of Columbia, Mo.; her sister, Lorene Ellis of Belleview, Wash .; her brother-in-law, Linus Crouch of Salem, Mo.; her grandchildren, Drury (Greg) Moyers of Clayton, Del., and Joseph Parker of Columbia, Mo.; her great-granddaughter, Ann Marie Moyers; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; her sister, Harriet Crouch; and her brother-in-law, Bill Ellis. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday November 5, 2016 in the Freeman Chapel.
