Ryan Del "Fuzz" Mitchem, 42, of Chamois, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on May 14, 1974, in Jefferson City, the son of Delmar and Rhonda (Nichols) Mitchem. On April 29, 1995, he was united in marriage in Chamois to Mandy Thuli, she survives at the home. Ryan was a 1992 graduate of Jefferson City High School and attended Linn State Technical College. He was employed with Summit Mechanical where he loved the people he worked with and the job he was doing. Ryan was a member of Chamois United Methodist Church. Ryan had a love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, including his favorite time of year which was Bow Camp on the Mitchem Island. Ryan also enjoyed building houses. He had helped his family build seven homes, the last one being his wife Mandy's dream home. Most of all he loved time spent with friends and family. Along with his wife, Mandy Mitchem, he is survived by his son, Tanner Mitchem and friend (Erika Ellis); parents, Delmar and Rhonda Mitchem of Chamois; one sister, Heather Northway (Scott) of Chamois; grandparents, Melva Sheldon of Hermann, Mylinda Thuli of Chamois and Lorraine Gilbert of Chamois; father and mother-in-law, David and Lynn Thuli of Chamois; sisters-in-law, Amy Mitchem (Jim) of Chamois, Gina Thompson (Shane) of Chamois; brother-in-law, Doogie Thuli of Chamois; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ryan was preceded in death by Archie and Laura Mitchem, Delvin Nichols, Julius Thuli, Kathryn Kapell and Ishmael Kronk. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the St. John's United Church of Christ, Chamois, where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 (noon) with Sabra Paulsmeyer and Rev. Jennie Martin-Webb officiating. Expression of Sympathy may be made to the Ryan Mitchem Children Educational Fund or the Ryan Mitchem Benefit.
