Helen Irene Fender

Helen Irene Fender, 109, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, in New Bloomfield, Mo. She is survived by her children, Larry Fender (Norma), Irene Young (David), Laura Cartmill-Cooley and Mary Bailey; son-in-law, Charles Best; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Nancy; and sons-in-law, Martin and Donald. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Mo. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the chapel. She will be laid to rest in Mound Grove Cemetery directly following the service.
