Elizabeth Jeanne "Betty" May

Elizabeth Jeanne "Betty" May, 95, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016, at St. Joseph Bluffs. She was born July 5, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Rev. Hugh John and Lillian Christine (Wallace) May. Betty worked for 42 years as an elementary teacher including spending one year in Japan teaching. She was a former member of North Shore Presbyterian Church in Shorewood, Wisconsin. She also was a member of P.E.O Chapter A in Wisconsin. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Lois May, Jefferson City; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Dorothy Painter; and two brothers, Hugh May and Frank May. A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial following in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Nashua, Iowa. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
