Lawrence Albert Webb, 86, of Jefferson City, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Adams Street Place. He was born on June 10, 1929, in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Lawrence Marion and Mildred (Schnelle) Webb, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on May 22, 1948, in Hannibal, Missouri to Rena Whitaker who survives at their home. Lawrence worked at the Missouri Highway Patrol from 1955 as a Trooper, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and retired as a Captain at General Headquarters in 1987. He served on active duty with the United States Army from 1946 to 1948, then with the Missouri National Guard until 1991, when he retired as a Colonel. Lawrence enjoyed fishing, hunting and travelling. He was a member at Cathedral of St. Joseph, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Eagles. He loved spending vacation time with family and friends. Along with his wife of 67 years, he is survived by: two sons: Larry (Sandy) Webb of Pollock Pines, California; and Michael (John OíShea) Webb of Killaloe, County Clare, Ireland; one daughter-in-law: Kathy Webb of Jefferson City; three grandsons: Chris and wife Angela; Nick and wife Sunshine; Sam and wife Brandi; five great grandsons; two great granddaughters; three step-grandchildren: Glynn, Sarah and Patrick; and one step great granddaughter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Webb, in 2011. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Houser Millard Funeral Directors. There will be a Prayer Service at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Reverend Monsignor Robert Kurwicki will be celebrating Mass. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
