Marcella Maria Utterback

Marcella Maria "Marcy" (Struemph) Utterback, 77, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Marcy lived her life full of passion and left behind many fond memories with those of us who were blessed enough to know her. She was born March 21, 1938, in Freeburg, Mo., the daughter of the late Frank Struemph and Rose (Otto) Struemph. She was a graduate of Fatima High School in 1956. On August 4, 1962, in Freeburg, she married Thomas James Utterback, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1999. In addition to spending time with her family, Marcy loved reading, crafting, knitting, crocheting, puzzles, cooking her favorite recipes and gardening. After graduation, she worked at the Oberman's Pants Factory and the Missouri Division of Health in Jefferson City and the Bank of Freeburg. She proudly served in the U.S. Women's Army Corps from 1960 to 1962 and retired from the Montgomery County Health Department in Beavercreek after 28 years of service. Those left to mourn the passing of Marcy include: her daughters, Deborah Fecher of Beavercreek, Ohio, Carol Shields (David) of Middletown, Ohio; grandchildren, Katie Fecher, Brandon and Brittany Shields; one brother, Martin Struemph (Clara) of Wardsville; five sisters, Arline Lueckenotto (Edmund) of Jefferson City, Joan Schnieders (Thomas) of Wardsville, Judy Heckman (William) of Koeltztown, Sylvia Frank (Forrest) of Rich Fountain and Donna Schellman (Robert) of St. Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; her brothers, Alphonse (1975) and David Struemph (2011). In honor of her life, a Funeral Service was held on Friday, February 19, 2016, at Tobias Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio. Interment was in the Mount Zion Shoup Cemetery with full Military Honors.
