Mary Lou Wieberg

Mary Lou Wieberg, age 82, of Argyle, departed this life on Saturday, June 25, 2016, in St. Joseph's Home, Jefferson City. She was born on August 25, 1933, at Centertown, a daughter of Louis Aloysius and Anna Regina (Schmidt) Benne. Mrs. Wieberg was united in marriage on April 25, 1959, at St. Martin's, to Louis Mathias "Lee" Wieberg, and to this union six children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 14, 2013. Mrs. Wieberg was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality, and had been a CCD adviser (catechist); member, trustee, rehab-program chairman, and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Argyle VFW Post No. 8045; member, treasurer, and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Argyle K of C Council No. 2047; and had served as treasurer of the Argyle Ballpark Association, as a 4-H Club Mother Adviser, and as an election judge in Osage County. After graduating from St. Peter's High School, Jefferson City, in 1951, she was employed as a key punch operator for the Missouri Department of Revenue, Jefferson City, for nine years. Mrs. Wieberg received great personal joy as a child care provider (babysitting) from 1977 until being employed in 1989 by the Argyle School as a cook until her retirement in 1994, as well as being a devoted housewife and homemaker throughout her entire working career. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Wieberg include her six children: Ron Wieberg, Springfield, Steve Wieberg, Lake St. Louis, Mark "Sparky" Wieberg (Leigh Ann), Jefferson City, Renee Hentges (Jo), Centertown, Jason Wieberg (Leslie), Jefferson City, and Joey Wieberg (Vickie), Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, Adam, Sam, Morgan, Sydney, Mathias, Madison, Landon, Brett, and Carys Wieberg; her siblings, Juliann Rockers, Centertown, LaVern Toebben (Alvin), St. Martin's, Ruth Schaefer (Walter), Taos, Patricia Whittle (Tom), Centertown, Gerald "Jerry" Benne (Carol), Centertown, Donald "Donnie" Benne (Mary Ellen), Centertown, and Betty Jo Luebbering (William), St. Thomas; one sister-in-law, Agnes Benne, St. Charles; nephews; nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Louis, on March 12, 1985; her mother, Anna, on October 30, 1989; one brother, Louis Eugene Benne, on July 10, 2005; and one brother-in-law, Clarence Rockers, on November 15, 2009. Visitation for Mrs. Wieberg will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, followed at 7:00 p.m. by a Vigil Service, VFW Ladies Memorial Service, and K of C Ladies Auxiliary Rosary Service in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 1 Church Lane, Argyle. Visitation will continue prior to the Mass from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016, in the church as well. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Wieberg at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 1 Church Lane, Argyle, with the Rev. James Finder as the Celebrant.
