James E Moseley

James E. Moseley, 90, of California, Mo., passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on June 20, 1926, in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Byron and Ethel (Lampson) Moseley, who preceded him in death. He was married on October 14, 1947, to Lucy Gross, who survives at the home. He was a graduate of Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kan., in 1944. He served in WWII for the US Navy aboard the USS Carrier Manila Bay from 1944-1946. He was a foreman for the Missouri Department of Conservation for 17 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of California. He also enjoyed flying small planes, fly fishing, grilling, reading, and served two terms as County Commissioner, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge where he received his 50 year pin. Survivors include: one son, Russell Moseley and wife Valarie of California, Mo.; one daughter, Cindy Moseley Dobson of California, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by one son, Bob Moseley and one sister, Joan Bolinger. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home. A graveside service will be following at the Masonic Cemetery. Rev. Greg Morrow will be officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of California c/o the funeral home.
