Margaret M Wilkerson

Margaret M. (Peggy Amick) Wilkerson, 96, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Center in Jefferson City. She was born on May 18, 1920, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Nick and Hazel (Foster) Snyder, who preceded her in death. During her life, she taught sewing at Singer's in Jefferson City, worked for Tweedies Shoe Company on the sewing line, International Shoe Factory on the switchboard and Wright's Camera Shop as a dark room printer. Margaret was very proud of her family's military career and was a member of the Blue Star Mother's Organization. She was an exceptional seamstress. She shared her artistic talent of sewing with her family and friends. She sewed many gowns, suits, dance costumes, and outfits for all of her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the memories they made will forever be cherished. She is survived by one son: Melvin D. Amick Jr. of Jefferson City; two daughters: Vivian Amick of Jefferson City and Sandra Holderle of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters: Marie Krech of St. Paul Park, Minnesota and Lavonne Chandler of Hastings, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Chad Holderle, Keith Holderle and Jaimee Hubbard and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son: Alan L. Brummet Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Houser-Millard Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Houser-Millard Funeral Chapel with Rev. Murl Nash officiating. Inurnment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
