Mrs. Dorothy L. Livingston, age 96 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Westphalia Hills surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born February 20, 1920, in Barnett, Mo., the daughter of the late John and Phildelia Dutcher Crowder. She was married on August 5, 1938, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Robert H. Livingston, who preceded her in death on April 22, 2004. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Dorothy was a 1938 graduate of Eldon High School. A homemaker for the majority of her life, Dorothy was the bookkeeper with her husband's construction business, Lee Holding Company. Her main passion was raising her children and being actively involved with their daily activities. She loved supporting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church and volunteered her time at Villa Marie Nursing Home. She will be remembered for her generosity and was proud to support many charities. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing bridge, bowling, and reading. Survivors include: three daughters, Marilyn Stefanec, Laura Sanderson, and Jana Bartel, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; one son, Robert J. Livingston of Jefferson City, Mo.; six grandchildren, Pamela Kroeger of Jefferson City, Mo., Jacob Johnson of Jefferson City, Mo., Adam Colozza of Holts Summit, Mo., Robert Colozza of Chesterfield, Mo., JoAnne Hodges of Bertrand, Mo., and Diana Murrah of Chesterfield, Mo.; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Irwin Crowder, Joel Crowder, and Archie Crowder; one sister, Hortense Jordan; and an infant sister, Mildred Crowder. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church.
