Helen M 'Sissy' (Ihler) Hohm, 85, died Thursday, July 21, 2016, in Jefferson City, Mo. She was born July 18, 1931, in St. Martins, Mo., daughter of the late Victor Theodore 'Ted' and Wilhelmina 'Minnie' (Kolde) Ihler. She graduated from St. Peter Catholic High School in 1949. She lived and worked in the state of California for many years. Upon moving back to mid-Missouri, she worked for Eggen Office Equipment. Helen was married November 27, 1967, in Los Angeles, Calif., to John A. Hohm, who proceeded her in death. Helen had many interests. She loved to cook and share her recipes. She was also an excellent photographer and loved music, singing and playing a harmonica. She loved to play cards -10 point pitch was 'her' game and loved to play board games with her many nieces and nephews. Her greatest joy came from her large extended family. Helen is survived by six nieces, Shirley (Wagers) Stephens, Sharon (Wagers) Murphy, Sarah (Wagers) Burress, Jane (Eggen) Morff, Mary Jane (Ihler) Forck and Susan (Mueller) Pitera; three nephews, David Wagers, James Eggen and Michael Mueller; one brother-in-law, Thomas Mueller; two sisters-in-law, Dolores (Hohm) Kliethermes and Genevieve (Hohm) Knaebel; as well as many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Helen was proceeded in death by three sisters, Wilma Wagers, Edna Eggen and Mary Louise Mueller; two brothers, Amos Ihler and Lawrence Ihler; one sister-in-law, Mary Ihler; four brothers-in-law, Russell Wagers, Vincent Eggen, Linus Hohm and Norbert Hohm. She was also proceeded in death by three nephews, John Wagers, William Wagers and Jimmy Wagers; and one niece, Susan Wagers. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Don Antweiler officiating. Interment will directly follow in the St. Peters Cemetery (West Main Street). Expressions of sympathy may be made to the donor's choice program for Immaculate Conception parish.
