Evelyn Lehman

Evelyn Hulda Sophia Linhardt Lehman, 88, departed this life on Saturday, January 23, 2016, for her heavenly home at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born December 22, 1927, a daughter of Louis and Lorene Schubert Linhardt, both deceased. On November 26, 1949, Evelyn was united in marriage to David J. Lehman, who survives of the home. Mrs. Lehman was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a long time member of the Evening Guild and was on the Altar committee for many years. She also worked in the braille room and helped to serve many meals for the Kiwanis. In 1946, Evelyn graduated from California High School. She was employed at the Division of Health, Tweedie Footwear, DuPont Company in Wilmington, Delaware and after David's discharge from the Air Force, was employed at Burgers' Smokehouse for 25 years, retiring the last day of 1992. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, jigsaw puzzles and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was usually available to babysit the grandkids. Survivors include: son, Michael of California; daughter, Susan Crawford (Mark), Centertown; grandsons, Cody Whitworth, Eldon, and Benjamin Crawford, Centertown; granddaughters, Morgan Colbert (Kenny), Olean, Sabra Mertens (Donnie), California, and Whitney Crawford, Colorado Springs, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Colbert, SkyAnn Colbert, Abel Colbert, Jamey Mertens, Kari Mertens and Natalie Mertens; brother, Roy Linhardt, Lakewood, Colo.; sister, Dorothy Miloro, Jefferson City; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Whitworth in May 2013. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in California. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 with the Reverend Dr. Peter Kurowski officiating at the church. Interment will follow at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
