Dora Alexander

Dora Elizabeth Alexander, age 91, of Eldon, formerly of Iberia, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. She was born in the Horseshoe Bend area on February 5, 1924, daughter of the late Andrew and Anne (Belcher) Irwin. On December 18, 1942, in Waynesville, Dora married Curtis Gerald Alexander, who preceded her in death on March 28, 2007. Dora was a member and elder at Lake Ozark Christian Church. She was a past secretary of the Christian Women's Fellowship and was also a past member of the Lake Ozark Lions Club. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, and quilting during her leisure times. She is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Goff and husband Greg of Eldon, Linda Bell and husband Fred of Rocky Mount, and Karen Bond and husband Roy Jr. of Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Angela Bell, Ryan Robinett, and Jason Bond; four great-grandchildren, Logan Bell, Cole Robinett, Yates Robinett, and Chase Bond; her fifth great-grandchild is due in April; and two sisters-in-law, Patsy Sein and JoAnn Alexander. In addition to her parents and husband, Dora was preceded in death by two grandchildren, William Fischer and Amy Fischer; six brothers; and three sisters. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Gary Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Good Shepherd Care Center.
