Archie Lee Hatton Sr., 94, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, January 2, 2016, at his residence. He was born on April 16, 1921, in Rocheport, Missouri, the son of the late Thomas William Hatton and Laura Jane Carter Hatton. He was married on April 16, 2011, in Holts Summit, Missouri, to Willie Mae Davis, who survives at the home. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Hatton was employed for 70 years as a truck driver for various companies, last working for Columbia Auto Auction. Other survivors include three children, Archie (Joyce) Hatton Jr., Columbia; Lionel Smith, Kansas City, Mo.; and Kathy Whittlier, Springfield, Mo.; five step-children, Phillip Williams, Columbia; David Williams, Columbia; Milton Williams, state of California; Danny Williams, Virginia; and George Williams, Columbia; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Lee, Columbia; Hazel Sheard, Columbia; and Grace Wright, Columbia; and one brother, Roger (Mae) Hatton, Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Billy, Calvin, Johnnie, Robert, and Tommy Hatton; and three sisters, Elizabeth Alexander, Evelyn Gordon, and Mary Bass. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, Holts Summit, with the Reverend Gordon Coleman officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Saturday, January 9, at the church.
