Ethel Louise Fair

Ethel Louise Fair, age 86, of Jefferson City and formerly of Centralia, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016, at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born August 13, 1929, the daughter of Claude Travis Sterrett and Nellie M. (Wilson) Sterrett, was a graduate of Centralia High School, and, on November 15, 1947, married the love of her life, Ronald Barker Fair, remaining steadfast to him for 63 years until his death in 2010. Louise was a faithful woman of God, having served more than 70 years as an active member of Centralia First Baptist Church before moving with her daughter in 2013 to Jefferson City where she joined the fellowship of Southridge Baptist Church. Family was her pride and joy and survivors include: son, Ronald Duane Fair (wife Sandra) of Fairfield, Illinois, and daughters, Rhonda Jean James (husband John) of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Catherine Marie Hall (husband Will) of Alexandria, Louisiana; grandchildren, Rosalie Fair, Ben James, Lisa James Maloney (husband Shannon), Lori James Hopkins (husband Travis), W.B. Hall (wife Victoria), Nathan Hall, and Jacob Hall; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Fair, Connor Maloney, Alayna Maloney, Mary Katheryn Maloney; and one brother, Harold Sterrett (wife Lavahn) of O'Fallon, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Nellie M. Sterrett; husband, Ronald Barker Fair; infant grandson, John Tyler James; brothers, Thomas Sterret, Louis Sterrett, Charles Sterrett and Clyde Sterrett; as well as sisters, Margaret Beamer and Grace Sterrett in infancy. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 29 in First Baptist Church, Centralia, Missouri, with Rev. Clyde Chiles and Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Centralia, Missouri, with graveside services by Rev. Reuben Phelps. Visitation will be held in First Baptist Church starting at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to further the evangelistic work of First Baptist Church, 101 South Collier Street, Centralia, MO 65240; or Southridge Baptist Church, 1815 Vieth Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65110.
