Opal Faye Gordon

Mrs. Opal Faye "Tee" Gordon, age 92 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, February 15, 2016 at Oak Tree Villa. Faye was born December 4, 1923 in Brumley, Mo., the daughter of John H. and Dessie Cardwell Huddleston. She was married on December 23, 1960 in Marion County, Indiana, to William F. Gordon, who preceded her in death on May 28, 1992. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area for most or her life, Faye graduated from Jefferson City High School. While in Indiana, she was employed with the American United Insurance Co. In Jefferson City, she was employed as a receptionist with the Missouri Dept. of Natural Resources until her retirement in 1989. Faye enjoyed shopping, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: one niece, Debbie Berendzen of Jefferson City, Mo.; one nephew, Rick Huddleston and his wife Peggy of Holts Summit, Mo.; two great-nephews, Jamie Carter and his wife Becky who she thought of as her grandson, and Chris Carter and his friend Sally Powell of Jefferson City, Mo.; five great- great-nieces and nephews, Justin, Hayley, Kyle, Alyssa, and Brendon; one sister-in-law, Geneva Huddleston of Jefferson City, Mo.; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, John Huddleston, and one nephew-in-law, Harry Berendzen. A private funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in the Freeman Chapel. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery.
