Robert Conrad Watkins

Robert Conrad "Bob" Watkins, 63, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. He was born March 16, 1952, in St. Joseph, Missouri the son of Doyle and Coeta (Conrad) Watkins. He was a 1970 graduate of Maryville High School. He received his bachelors degree from Northwest Missouri State in 1975. He was united in marriage on September 29, 1979, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Gail June Edwards, who survives at the home. Bob began his automotive career with Broadway Ford in Kansas City. He later worked for Ford Motor Company in Fargo, North Dakota, before moving to Jefferson City to work at Capital City Ford. He eventually owned and operated the Eldon Ford Company until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of First Christian Church, Eldon Chamber of Commerce, Eldon Lions Club, and Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. Bob was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and loved to spend time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Gail Watkins, Jefferson City; two children, Kelli Watkins-Turley (Erick), Jefferson City, and Jon Watkins, Kansas City, Missouri; his father, Doyle Watkins, Maryville; and one grandson, Ace David Turley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Coeta Watkins; and two brothers, Ronald Watkins and Roger Watkins. Private family memorial service was held Saturday, February 6, 2016, at First Christian Church with the Rev. Beau Underwood officiating.
