Velma Thompson

Velma Thompson, age 85, of Dixon, died Friday, December 2, 2016, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City. She was born November 11, 1931, a daughter of George and Velma Fritchey. She was married September 18, 1948, to Virgil Thompson, who died December 15, 1987. Survivors include a son, Steve Thompson; a daughter, Cathy Acord; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, George and Donald Fritchey and sister, Betty Davis. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon, with funeral service following in the chapel at 11 a.m. and burial in Seaton Cemetery.
