Vernita Marie Woehr, 100, of Westphalia, was reunited with her husband Joe, Thursday, April 7, 2016. She was born December 4, 1915, in Folk, Mo., the daughter of the late Henry and Gesina (Toebben) Kempker. She was united in marriage on April 15, 1936, in Folk, Mo., to Joseph Herman Woehr who preceded her in death on January 15, 1976. Vernita worked for Linn Manufacturing Company, Ottenhamer Pants Company in Meta, Chesebrough Ponds in Jefferson City, and for many years assisted her husband on their dairy farm near Koeltztown. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia and the St. Ann's Quilting Circle. Over the years, Vernita babysat for many neighborhood children. She enjoyed putting up decorations and outside lights for the community to enjoy during the Christmas season. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together. Survivors include: four daughters, Rosemary Luebbering, St. Thomas, Salma Hoeller, Koeltztown, Rita (Lester) Kempker, Taos, Nancy (William) Weed, Fulton; 24 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Angeline (Leo) Massen, Jefferson City, Wilfred (Jean) Kempker, Westphalia, Joseph (Cecilia) Kempker, Westphalia, Genevieve (Edward) Glawson, Holts Summit, Benny Kempker, Westphalia; and two sisters-in-law, Lorine Kempker, Mexico and Cecilia Kempker, Wardsville. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; infant daughter, Alice Woehr; infant son, Bernard Woehr; and eight brothers, Sylvester, Melvin, Lawrence, Clarence, Ray, Harry, Herbert and Edward Kempker. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
