Don D. Gourley

Mr. Don D. Gourley, age 55 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at his home. Don was born August 21, 1960, in Pampa, Texas, the son of Donald L. and Helen R. Phelps Gourley. He was married on July 27, 2012, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Gloria K. Bowden. Don was a 1978 graduate of Mountain Grove High School, Mountain Grove, Mo. and served in the United States Navy from 1978 until 1984. A resident of the Jefferson City for over 20 years, he was employed as Chief of the Air Monitoring Program with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for over 20 years retiring in 2013. Don enjoyed traveling, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Survivors include: his wife, Gloria Gourley; one son, Gary Martin of Marshfield, Mo.; one daughter, Amy Martin of Farmington, Mo.; his mother, Helen Gourley of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Molly Postlewait and her husband Jeff of Belton, Mo. and Janey Gourley of Sedalia, Mo.; three grandchildren, Leigha Schultz-Koch of Twenty-Nine Palms, California, Crystal Koch and Mikenna Koch, both of Farmington, Mo. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Gourley on January 31, 1998. A private family memorial service will be conducted at a later time.
