Mr. William Richard "Bill" Norman Jr., age 69 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by family. Bill was born on July 28, 1946, in St. Louis County, Mo., the son of William R. Sr. and Eleanor M. (Hereford) Norman. He married Vicki Diane Mobley, on December 24, 1973. She preceded him in death on February 1, 1987. He was married on October 28, 2005, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City to Debra S. Taylor-Woemmel. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Bill was a 1964 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He was in the Boy Scouts and had achieved his Eagle Scout rank. He attended Westminster College in Fulton and later graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from Lincoln University. Bill taught at New Bloomfield High School and later became a shop teacher at Fulton High School in Fulton, Mo. for over 10 years until his retirement in 2008. Before he received his teaching certificate, was a substitute teacher for elementary schools and was a bus driver with the Jefferson City Public Schools. He attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City with his wife. Bill was talented at building anything with his hands and enjoyed making chess sets and train sets. Survivors include: his loving wife, Debbie Norman of Versailles, Mo.; one son, Micah Norman (fiancÈ Jamie) of Chicago, Ill.; one daughter, Vanessa Norman of St. Louis, Mo.; one step-son, Tim Woemmel of Carbondale, Ill.; three step-daughters, Heather Bahinum (husband Shawn) of Smyrna, Ga., Teresa Courter (husband Chad) of Versailles, Mo. and Mindy Shellenberger (husband Mark) of Lee Summit, Mo.; and six step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Cornerstone Baptist Church. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Reverend Brian Credille officiating.
