Bonnie Jean Jones

Mrs. Bonnie Jean Jones, 75, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Capital Region Medical Center. Bonnie was born on April 7, 1940, in Malvern, Ark., a daughter of the late Wight and Gladys (Pearson) Liner. She was married on January 12, 1968, in Little Rock, Ark. to Preston L. Jones. Bonnie was a 1958 graduate of Cove High School and attended Central High School in Little Rock, Ark. (1954-1957). She was a homemaker. Even though Bonnie had only been a resident of Jefferson City for the past five years, she was an active volunteer in the community. Bonnie was very involved with her church, Southridge Baptist Church. She was a member of RUTH ladies group, worked with the children's church and nursery, and coordinated the Food 4 Kids program at the church. She also volunteered at Stained Glass Theater and the Samaritan Center. Bonnie enjoyed crafting, reading, traveling, gardening, caring for her beloved hummingbirds, but most of all spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: her husband, Preston Jones; a son, Russell Jones of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Rhonda (Kelly) Myers of Jefferson City, Mo.; two step-daughters, Claudette Price of Weston, Mo. and Carol (Jose) Villasenor of Germany; a sister, Mary (Bill) Huie of Austin, Ark.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Tim (Shelli) Huie. Visitation will be held at Southridge Baptist Church, from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Southridge Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Ron Zamkus officiating. Interment will be conducted at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot, Ark.
