Mary Louise "Babe" Nevins, 92, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. She was born December 31, 1922, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late William Preston and Clara Pauline (Loethen) Neeley. She was united in marriage on October 19, 1938, in Fulton to James Herbert "Herb" Nevins, who preceded her in death on September 20, 1992. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, and St. Peter Alter Society. She lived a long and colorful life and will be intensely missed by those who knew her. She enjoyed life, music, baseball, genealogy, baking, garage sales, collecting coupons, telling jokes and stories, and visiting with friends and family. She was feisty and lively. Survivors include: six children, Helen L. (Roy) Ryan, Columbia; James H. (Vicky) Nevins Jr., Tuttle, Okla.; Monte P. (Kim) Nevins, Columbia; Paula K. Curry, Columbia; Lynne J. (Paul) Strange, Jefferson City; and M. Christie (Kevin) Holterman, Freeburg; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Binkley and her husband Ron Buescher, Jefferson City; and three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Neeley, Gerry Neeley, and Mary Neeley, all of Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Billy L. Nevins; three brothers, Robert Neeley, James Neeley, and William Neeley; and sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Tom Throneberry. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2015, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
