Norma Mildred Butler, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at her residence surrounded by family. She was born March 29, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of the late John Joseph and Gladys Catherine (Stegemeier) Hilla. She was united in marriage on January 24, 1953, in St. Louis, to Allen Hardin Butler who preceded her in death on March 7, 2011. Norma worked as an Executive Secretary for Elf Asphalt Inc. in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was very involved with her family. She was a gracious, generous, patient, spiritual soul who loved and cared for everyone she knew. She enjoyed sewing, pinochle and playing tennis with Allen which is how they first met. Survivors include: six children, Allen Butler, Chicago, Ill., Nancy (Dennis) Powell, Republic, Mo., Patti (Kevin) Martin, Jefferson City, Martha Butler, Jefferson City, James Butler (Connie Cain), Council Bluffs, Iowa, Carol (Erik) Heitmann, Leawood, Kan.; six grandchildren, David Spies, Alexander Hayden, Ian Heitmann, Alicia Spies, Katherine Blackwell, Ella Heitmann; two great-grandchildren, Lyla Blackwell and Ryder Blackwell; one step-grandson, Sam Martin; her twin sister, Melba Willibrand, Jefferson City, and sister Jeanne Sandberg, Moraga, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m., Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a rosary at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2015, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne M. Boyer officiating. Burial will be 2:15 p.m., Monday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
