Gregory Dean Gordon

Gregory Dean Gordon, 53, of Holts Summit, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015. He was born on December 26, 1961, in Jefferson City, the son of Leroy and Juanita (Clingman) Gordon. On September 26, 1992, he was united in marriage to Barbara Lynn Meyer in Jefferson City, who survives of the home. Greg was a 1980 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He was the manager for Scruggs Lumber and was employed with them for 35 years. He also was a member of Link Cemetery board in Wainwright. Greg enjoyed hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed the family vacations and loved his dog Hank. Greg was a wonderful family man, he loved his wife and children and treasured his time with them as well as time with his nieces, nephews and his friends. Along with his wife, Barb, he is survived by his children: Austin Gordon and Erin Gordon of the home; his dad: Leroy Gordon (Jan) of Holts Summit; brother: Jeff Gordon (Mary) of Fulton; brothers-in-law: Greg Meyer, Scott Meyer (Cheryl), Paul Anders; sisters-in-law: Tammy Meyer, Debbie Hilke (Don), Teresa Mackay (Roger), Carol Meyer; nieces and nephews: Leanne Ross (Bryan), Elizabeth Miles (Clayton), Roy Lee Gordon (Monica), Allen Meyer, Matt Meyer, Todd Meyer, Tim Meyer (Abbey), Amy Declue (Ron), Bryan Anders (Andrea), Alex Hilke, Steven Meyer (Marissa), Thomas Meyer (Melanie), Jennifer Turner (Ben), Tyler Mackay (Monica), Sommer Mackay; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and numerous friends. Greg was preceded in death by his mom, Juanita Gordon; father-in-law, Lloyd Meyer; mother-in-law, Shirley Meyer; brother-in-law, Tom Meyer, sister-in-law, Linda Anders; and nephew, Aaron Meyer. Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2015, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit, with a prayer service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2015, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit, with Father Joe Corel officiating. Interment will follow at Link Cemetery in Wainwright. Family requests casual dress in honor of Greg. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the college education fund for Greg's children.
