Nina Preston Ross

Nina Preston Ross, EDD, THD, age 83, of Memphis, Tenn., passed away Friday, March 27, 2015, in Memphis, Tenn. Nina was born in Pelkin, Ill., August 19, 1931. Dr. Ross was a prolific writer, having published 21 books, primarily Christian writings, inspired by many years involved in mission work in India. Dr. Ross was a member of Lindenwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Life Elder, and teacher of Carl Stokes and Friendship Sunday school classes. She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Ross; their three children: Beck Ross McRae of Memphis; Penny Ross-Corona (Joe) of St. Louis, Mo.; Paul Preston Ross (Jan) of Memphis; three brothers: MacKenzie Preston, Pontiac, Ill.; Herman Preston, Leesburg, Fla.; and Carl Preston, Glendale, Ariz; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion C. and Clara Grigsby Preston of Pekin, Ill., and four brothers: Francis Preston, Harry Preston, Earl Preston, and Jesse Preston. Burial will be in Jefferson City, Mo., at Riverview Cemetery (Evangelical Section). A memorial service and visitation will be held at Lindenwood Christian Church, 2400 Union Ave, Memphis on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the foyer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Music Department at Lindenwood Christian Church.
