Margaret E. Derks

Margaret E. Derks, 79, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of Russellville, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Jefferson City Manor, Jefferson City, Mo. She was born September 4, 1935 in Nevada, Mo., the daughter of Robert George and Marie Josephine (Kirsch) Zaring, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Fatima High School. Margaret was united in marriage in 1965 in Jefferson City, Mo., to Malcolm Derks, whom also preceded her in death. She was employed as an upholster and secretary. Margaret enjoyed NASCAR especially Jeff Gordon and playing pitch. She was a member of American Legion Women Auxiliary. She will be sadly missed. Survivors include: one son, Richard (Denise) Derks, of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, George Zaring, Russesllville, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jenifer (Nathan) Block, Sarah (Ben) Arthur, Carrie Surface, Brett Surface; four great- grandchildren; and four nephews. Margaret was preceded in death along with parents and husband by one half-sister, Beijing West. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015, from 4:00ñ6:00 p.m., at Weber Funeral Home, Russellville, Mo. Private burial service will follow the visitation at Enloe Cemetery.
