Ronald Sherrell

Ronald Sherrell, age 74, of Jefferson City, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City. He was born in St. Elizabeth on July 8, 1940, son of the late Clarence Olaf and Jewell Marie (Helton) Sherrell. On July 11, 1976, in Las Vegas, Ronald married Sarah Vaughan, who survives at the home. Ronald owned and operated Sherrell's Service Station and Grocery in Meta for over 50 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Ronald was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City and a past member of the Vienna Eagles Club. Along with his wife Sarah, he is also survived by three children, Debbie Backes and husband Ron, Beth Struempf and husband Pat, and Tom Hickman and wife Jennifer all of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren, Shaun Backes and wife Nikki, "Little Sarah" Boss and husband Jesse, Kelli Deeken and husband Brad, Jessica Fox, Heather Rockstad and husband Jordan, Josh Hickman, and Becca Hickman; and eight great-grandchildren: Cole, Madison, Ryleigh, Clayton, Gabriel, Levi, Brinkley, and Winston. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Meta Civic Center. Interment will be in Southside Cemetery in Meta.
