Mrs. Fern S. Lemasters, age 81 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Summit Villa. Fern was born on May 4, 1933, in Blue Earth, Minnesota a daughter of Harry and Minnie (Reko) Schuler. Fern was a 1951 graduate of Humboldt High School, Humboldt, Iowa. She continued her education at Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing, graduating in 1954 and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 1958. Fern began her nursing career as a hospital staff nurse, school nurse, public health nurse and instructor of nursing. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. Fern had a talent for knitting baby clothing and blankets and generously donated them to various organizations. Survivors include: two daughters, Jannine Nowaczek of Jefferson City, Mo. and Joy (Jeff) Miller of Edina, Minnesota; three sisters, Yvonne (Bernard) Keeler of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Jean (Larry) Braby of Pocahontas, Iowa, and Harriet Wade of Homestead, Florida; and two grandsons, Miles and Ben Miller. She was preceded in death by her husbands, and two sisters, Elaine Haase and Haleene Klatt. A private family graveside service will be held at Indian Mound Cemetery in Humboldt, Iowa.
