Jim "J.B." Uail Bledsoe, 67, of St. Martins, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at his home. He was born on October 24, 1947, in Washington, Missouri, the son of the late Charles and Florence (Nixon) Bledsoe Nilges. On November 30, 1967, he was united in marriage to Janice Johnson in Jefferson City, she survives of the home. JB served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. He graduated from Linn Technical State College as an Aviation Mechanic. He worked at Cheesebrough Ponds, Lee's Shoe Store, Western Southern Life Insurance, International Shoe Factory, US Rents It and as a motel cook for Paul Dan. JB retired after 25 years of service from the State of Missouri Office of Administration. JB was a 3rd degree Black Belt Sho-Rin-Ryu under Mike Keyes, Terry James and Will Wilkerson. He was an avid gardener and was great at barbequing; his favorite dish was chicken, he also enjoyed going to barbeque contests. He especially loved the time he got to spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with his wife of 47 years, JB is survived by his daughters: Dayna Bledsoe of Jefferson City, Rebecca Bledsoe Gibson (Charles) of Taos, Denise Evers of Jefferson City, Rita Trube (Scott) of Columbia and LeeAnn Baird of Liberty; siblings: Richard Nilges (Sharon Lane) of Hartsburg, Rena Haulenbeek (Tim) of Elston, Randy Nilges (Doreen) of Holts Summit, Rhonda Jacobs (Danny) of Holts Summit, Rob Nilges (Shelly) of Tebbetts and Rodney Nilges (Gail) of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren: Ashley Bledsoe Reinsch (Tanner), James Robert Gibson, Anthony Bledsoe, Travis Bledsoe, Harlee Evers, Mason Baird, Haleigh Baird; three great-grandchildren: Hayden Reinsch, Landon Reinsch and Skyler Reinsch. JB was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Ann Bledsoe Scott-Hinton and nephew, Charles Hinton. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Houser-Millard Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Houser-Millard with Pastor Bobby Nilges officiating. Interment will follow at Centertown Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Small Cell Cancer Research or to the family.
