Bobby "Dennis" Hammen

Bobby "Dennis" Hammen, 71, of Philpot, Ky., passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015. He was born on May 18, 1943, in Jefferson City, Mo., to the late Bobby Davis Hammen and Gladys Allene McDaniel Hammen. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for American Oil Company in Texas City, Texas, Sundstrand Aviation in Rockford, Ill., AP Green in Mexico, Mo. and retired from Swedish Match in Owensboro, Ky. Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Charlette Case Hammen; one daughter, Sally (Nick) Delaney of Seattle, Wash; a son, John (Julie) Hammen of Owensboro, Ky.; grandchildren, Jacob, Kate and Will Hammen and Liam, Morgan, Meagan, Nicole and Alison Delaney; two sisters, Linda (Gail) Bruce of Woolridge, Mo. and Julie Lewis of Jefferson City, Mo. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 10, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, Ky. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the funeral home.
