Nelda Ann Linsenbardt Bubach

Nelda Ann Linsenbardt Bubach, 98, of Lohman, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, at St. Joseph's Bluffs, surrounded by her family. Nelda was born April 7, 1916, at the family home, the oldest child of Gustav and Flora Fluegel Linsenbardt. She attended St. Paul's German School and graduated from the Lohman Public School. On October 4, 1945, Nelda was united in marriage to Oscar L. Bubach, at St. Paul's parsonage. Oscar preceded her in death on March 5, 1988. She worked in the Jefferson City Defense Factory and Oberman's Pants Factory. Following the war she was a homemaker, busy raising two children. After they were grown, she worked at Milo H. Walz in the Drapery Department. Nelda and Oscar raised dairy cows for many years on their farm. She loved to garden and was an excellent cook, winning many blue ribbons at the local and state fairs. She was a faithful, active, lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman, belonging to the Women's ELCA, Alter Flower Guild, Chili supper committee, S.T.A.R.S. (Seniors, Tired and Retired Saints) and participated in the weekly quilting circle. Active in the Lohman 4-H, Nelda was a clothing leader and also a clothing judge at the Cole County Fair. She was a member of the Cole County Communities Council and assisted with the start-up of the Annual Crafts Festival. She was also a member of the Lohman Community Building Association. Nelda is survived by: her son, Marvin Bubach of Lohman; her daughter, Susan Bubach Neenan and husband Peter of Columbia; three grandsons, Doug and Jeff Bubach of Lohman and Max Neenan of Columbia; two great-granddaughters, Kaylin and Abby Bubach of Russellville; one brother, Albin Linsenbardt and wife Jackie of Lohman; one sister, Olivia Linhardt of Russellville; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Bubach; two brothers and their wives, Rupert and Corrine Linsenbardt and Aldo and Charlotte Linsenbardt; and a brother-in-law, Franz Linhardt. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m., Thursday, March 5, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman. Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, March 5, at the church with Pastor Edward Merckel officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery or St. Paul's Kitchen Fund.
