Larry K. Tebbs

Mr. Larry K. Tebbs, age 73 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at the Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Larry was born on January 23, 1942, in Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Kyle and Edna A. (Arnold) Tebbs. As a young child, he moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., and later moved to Jefferson City, Mo. where he attended Jefferson City Public Schools. Larry worked with New Horizons in Jefferson City for over 25 years. Throughout that time he helped with their janitorial services until ill health forced him to retire a few years ago. For the past 20 years, Larry had a strong faith and was extremely thoughtful to others. From his caring nature, he was always willing to volunteer in the community or at New Horizons. He was a free spirit who enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, bowling, listening to music, and dancing. Survivors include: two daughters, Rhonda Cherrito of Kansas City, Mo., and Tebra L. Rhode; one sister, Lois Walker and her husband Larry of St. Joseph, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Clark "Buck" Legg of Mary's Home, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Barbara Tebbs of Jefferson City, Mo.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Saundra "Renee" Tebbs; a son, Brian K. Tebbs; his brother, Jack Tebbs; and two sisters, Donette Legg and Darlene Tebbs. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2015, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Lisa Deutsch officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
