Faith MacArthur Ownbey Cotton

Faith MacArthur Ownbey Cotton, 73, of Jefferson City, began her final journey on Saturday, July 11, 2015, in search of one more beach to walk at sunset, with her beloved Miss Smokey Jo, her canine companion. Faith was born in Ludlow, Vermont on May 10, 1942. Since her employment with the Department of Social Services, she had worked in management positions with oil companies, national retail chains and cruise ships. For several years Faith with her husband, Leonard Cotton, motor-homed the US and finally purchased a beach home in the Galveston, Texas area. After his death, Faith returned to Missouri where she owned and operated an antique mall and pawn shop. Faith is survived by one daughter: Jamie Faith Ownbey, and one son: Jeffrey David Ownbey (Andrea Binkley); three grandsons: Ryan James Ownbey (Kim), Nicholas Paul Ownbey and Gavin Tyler Ownbey; two granddaughters: Alexis Jade Ownbey and Olivia Masin Ownbey; one great-grandson: Hayden James Ownbey; and a sister: Maybelle MacArthur of Quincy, Illinois. Preceding her in death were a great-grandson: Griffin Thomas Ownbey; her parents: Dr. and Mrs. Fred MacArthur of Quincy, Illinois; two sisters: Hope Tenhaeff and Ruth Bonney; three brothers: Fred Jr., Fred Robert, and Douglas MacArthur; several nieces and nephews and numerous uncles and aunts. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2015, at Quincy Memorial Park in Quincy, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Lake Pet Hospital of Eldon, Missouri in Smokey Jo's name.
