Jack D. Gilmore

Jack D. Gilmore, 85, of Columbia, Mo., passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, in Columbia. He was born on May 15, 1929, in Boone County, Mo., the son of Mamie (Bradley) and Harry Gilmore. Jack married Bessie Olsan on March 6, 1955, in Columbia, Mo. He spent his entire life in the Boone County area and was a member of IBEW Local 257. Jack served during the Korean War from 1951-1953.Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Survivors include: his wife, Bessie; sons, Mark (Emily) Gilmore, Kevin Gilmore; grandchildren, Justin (Pam) Gilmore, Courtney Gilmore, Collin Gilmore, Joshua Gilmore; and sister, Peggy (Jack) Rhoades; brothers, James (Betty) Gilmore and Bradley Gilmore. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret Wood, Forestine Wallace and an infant sister, Meddy Lorraine Gilmore; and one brother, Albert Ray Gilmore Sr. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home. Entombment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
