Viola Christine Renterghem, 77, of Eugene, passed away, Monday, February 16, 2015, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born on August 30, 1937, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Ben and Gertrude (Sanke) Fennewald, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on May 30, 1963, in Jefferson City to Albert Renterghem, who preceded her in death on June 10, 2009. She attended St. Peter's Catholic School and worked for Central Bank as an Executive Dining Room Waitress from 1983, until her retirement in 2005. She also worked part-time at Dix Nursery in Jefferson City. Viola was a member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church and was a member of St. Margaret's Alter Sodality. She loved to work in the yard and plant flowers in her flowerbeds. She loved to walk the "Bend" and talk to everyone. She enjoyed traveling with the bus tours with Central Bank Travel. Most of all, Viola loved to spend time with her family and going to her grandchildren's activities. Viola is survived by two daughters: Tina (Steve) Markway of Mary's Home and Carla (Scott) Bernskoetter of Covington, Georgia; two brothers: Robert (Georgeen) Fennewald of Jefferson City and Gene (Henrietta) Fennewald of Jefferson City; one sister: Gladys (Emil) Kampeter of Jefferson City and two grandchildren: Bethany and Nicole Markway. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church with Fr. Ignazio C. Medina officiating. Interment will be follow at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to: Alzheimer's Association.
