Stanley Eugene Adams, 65, of Jefferson City, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at SSM St. Mary's Health Center surrounded by his family and friends. He was born July 15, 1949, son of Marshall "Jack" and Veronica "Mary" (Catlett) Adams in Richmond Heights, Mo. On August 8, 2008, he was united in marriage to Doris Kever who survives of the home. Stanley was a 1967 graduate of Eureka High School. He was very proud to have served his country in the United States Air force during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972. Stanley spent his career with the Union Pacific Railroad from 1973 to 2009, retiring as a conductor after 36 years of service. Stanley was a proud volunteer of the Central Missouri Honor Flight and he was especially privileged to assist in the creation of the first annual Golf Tournament that helped fund and continue honoring all veterans. He was extremely involved and was an active member with fundraisers and social events with the Eureka and Wardsville Lions Clubs, Eureka-Pacific Elks Club, and Eureka Jaycees. Stanley was particularly famous for his unique, strict leadership skills with the kitchen in serving many delicious meals for weddings and other social functions. He especially loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and was an avid NASCAR fan. His sense of humor, genuine interest in feelings of others, warm smile, and charming personality inherited him a large circle of friends! He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and especially his three grandchildren. Besides his wife, Doris, Stanley is also survived by his mother: Veronica "Mary" Adams; two daughters: Andrea (Andrew) Little of St. Charles and Tina Linder of St. Louis; one brother: Dennis (Charlee) Adams of Lisbon, Iowa.; two sisters: Jackie (Dale) Richardson of Pocahontas, Ill. and Lisa (Steve) Parker of St. Louis; three grandchildren: Samantha Linder, Katherine Little and Danica Little and several nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his dad: Marshall "Jack" Adams. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at the Wardsville Lions Club with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 20, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Eureka, Missouri with Father Ignazio C. Medina officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks will full military honors. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Central Missouri Honor Flight or the Wardsville Lions Club.
